Method of administration and doses
Drops are taken orally during the main meal containing fats to optimize the absorption process. The required dose of the preparation is measured using a dropper into a spoon with water, milk, or baby formula. For the purpose of preventing rickets, full-term infants from 2–4 weeks of life are usually prescribed 1 drop (400 IU) per day. For adult patients, the dosage may be increased by a doctor depending on the initial level of vitamin deficiency in the blood.
