METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
The dose and duration of the preparation intake depend on the severity of iron deficiency. The syrup is taken during or immediately after a meal. It can be mixed with fruit or vegetable juices, nutritional mixtures.
Clinically pronounced iron deficiency:
For children under 1 year old, it is recommended to prescribe the syrup in an initial dose of 5 drops per day, gradually increasing the dose to 2.5 ml per day.
For children aged 1-12 years: 3 mg of iron per 1 kg of body weight per day or 2.5-5 ml of syrup per day.
For adults and children over 12 years old, the syrup is prescribed in the usual daily dose of 10-15 ml of syrup per day.
The duration of syrup use is 3-5 months until the peripheral blood composition is normalized, subsequently, the treatment is continued for several more weeks to restore iron reserves in the body.
Latent iron deficiency:
For children under 1 year old, "Hemoglobin" syrup is not recommended due to very low recommended doses.
For children aged 1-12 years: 1.25-2.5 ml of syrup per day.
For adults and children over 12 years old: 2.5-5 ml of syrup per day.
Duration of treatment: 1-2 months.
For the prevention of iron deficiency conditions, the usual dose for pregnant and breastfeeding women is 2.5-5 ml of syrup.
