Method of administration and dosage Oral. Capsules should be swallowed whole with a small amount of water, regardless of meal time. Symptomatic treatment of cognitive impairment in adults (memory impairment, decreased concentration and intellectual abilities) take 1–2 capsules 3 times a day. Complex therapy of dizziness of vestibular origin and symptomatic treatment of tinnitus (ringing or noise in the ears): 3 capsules per day, distributed throughout the day. The first signs of improvement usually appear after 1 month. Course of treatment is at least 3 months (especially for elderly patients). Repeating the course is possible after consultation with a doctor. If a dose of the drug was missed or an insufficient amount was taken, the subsequent intake should be carried out as indicated in this instruction without any changes. There are reports of bleeding occurring during long-term use of ginkgo biloba preparations in patients simultaneously taking blood-thinning drugs. Sense organs: frequency unknown: hearing impairment. In case of any undesirable events, the drug should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted. Overdose Cases of overdose have not been registered to date. In case of overdose, treatment is symptomatic. Interaction with other medicinal products It is not recommended to use the drug in patients constantly taking acetylsalicylic acid, anticoagulants (direct and indirect action), as well as thiazide diuretics, tricyclic antidepressants, anticonvulsants, gentamicin. Isolated cases of bleeding are possible in patients simultaneously taking blood-thinning drugs; a causal link between these bleedings and the intake of ginkgo biloba preparations has not been confirmed. When used with antihypertensive agents, potentiation of the antihypertensive effect is possible. It is not recommended to use ginkgo biloba preparations simultaneously with efavirenz, as a decrease in its concentration in blood plasma is possible due to the induction of the cytochrome CYP3A4 isoenzyme under the influence of ginkgo biloba extract. Research on interaction with talinolol shows that ginkgo biloba extract can inhibit intestinal P-glycoproteins. This may increase the exposure of P-glycoprotein-sensitive drugs in the intestine, such as dabigatran, therefore caution should be exercised when using them simultaneously. Special instructions Do not exceed the recommended doses of the drug. If hypersensitivity reactions develop, the drug must be discontinued. Before surgery, it is necessary to inform the doctor about the use of the drug. In case of frequently occurring sensations of dizziness and noise in the ears, it is necessary to consult a doctor. In case of sudden deterioration or loss of hearing, it is necessary to consult a doctor immediately. Patients with bleeding disorders (hemorrhagic diathesis) and patients receiving anticoagulant therapy should consult a doctor before starting therapy with the drug. It is not recommended to use the drug together with ethanol. During the use of the drug in patients suffering from epilepsy, epileptic seizures may occur. Influence on the ability to drive vehicles, mechanisms During the period of taking the drug, caution should be exercised when performing potentially dangerous types of activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions (including driving vehicles, working with moving mechanisms), and if undesirable reactions, including dizziness, develop, it is necessary to refrain from driving vehicles.
