Method of administration and dosage Oral. Capsules should be swallowed whole with a small amount of water, regardless of meal time. Symptomatic treatment of cognitive impairment in adults (memory deterioration, decreased concentration and intellectual abilities): take 1–2 capsules 3 times a day. Complex therapy of dizziness of vestibular origin and symptomatic treatment of tinnitus (ringing or noise in the ears): 3 capsules per day, distributed throughout the day. The first signs of improvement usually appear after 1 month. Treatment course is at least 3 months (especially for elderly patients). A repeat course is possible after consultation with a doctor. If a dose of the drug was missed or not enough was taken, the subsequent intake should be carried out as indicated in these instructions without any changes. Side effects Classification of the frequency of side effects according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO): very common ≥ 1/10 common from ≥ 1/100 to <1/10 uncommon from ≥ 1/1000 to <1/100 rare from ≥ 1/10000 to <1/1000 very rare from < 1/10000 frequency unknown cannot be estimated from the available data. In each group, undesirable effects are presented in order of decreasing severity. Digestive system: very rare: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Nervous system: very rare: headache, dizziness, insomnia. Allergic reactions: very rare: hyperemia, edema, skin itching. Hemostatic system: very rare: decreased blood clotting. There are reports of bleeding occurring during long-term use of ginkgo biloba preparations in patients simultaneously taking blood-thinning agents. Sense organs: frequency unknown: hearing impairment. In case of any adverse events, stop taking the drug and consult your doctor. Overdose Cases of overdose have not been registered to date. In case of overdose, treatment is symptomatic. Interaction with other medicinal products It is not recommended to use the drug in patients constantly taking acetylsalicylic acid, anticoagulants (direct and indirect action), as well as thiazide diuretics, tricyclic antidepressants, anticonvulsants, gentamicin. Possible isolated cases of bleeding in patients simultaneously taking blood-thinning drugs; the causal link of these bleedings with the intake of ginkgo biloba preparations has not been confirmed. When used with antihypertensive agents, potentiation of the antihypertensive effect is possible. Simultaneous use of ginkgo biloba preparations with efavirenz is not recommended, as a decrease in its concentration in blood plasma is possible due to the induction of the cytochrome CYP3A4 isoenzyme under the influence of ginkgo biloba extract. Research on interaction with talinolol shows that ginkgo biloba extract can inhibit intestinal P-glycoproteins. This may increase the exposure to P-glycoprotein-sensitive drugs in the intestine, such as dabigatran, therefore caution should be exercised when using them simultaneously. Special instructions Do not exceed the recommended doses of the drug. If hypersensitivity reactions develop, stop using the drug. Before surgery, inform the doctor about the use of the drug. In case of frequently occurring sensations of dizziness and tinnitus, consult a doctor. In case of sudden deterioration or loss of hearing, consult a doctor immediately. Patients with bleeding disorders (hemorrhagic diathesis) and patients receiving anticoagulant therapy should consult a doctor before starting therapy with the drug. It is not recommended to use the drug with ethanol. During the use of the drug in patients suffering from epilepsy, epileptic seizures may occur. Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms During the intake of the drug, caution should be exercised when performing potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions (including driving vehicles, working with moving mechanisms), and if undesirable reactions occur, including dizziness, refrain from driving vehicles. Form of release Capsules 40 mg. 15 capsules per blister pack. 2, 4, 6 blister packs together with the instructions for use are placed in a cardboard box. Storage conditions At a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, in the original packaging.
