Lactobacterin for intestinal diseases is used orally, and in obstetric-gynecological practice - intravaginally. Dissolve the contents of the vial with boiled water at room temperature at the rate of 5 ml (teaspoon) of water per 1 dose of the drug. Dissolution should be carried out as follows: pour the required amount of water into a glass (in accordance with the number of doses indicated on the vial); open the vial by removing the cap and stopper; transfer a small amount of water from the glass to the vial; after dissolution (the drug dissolves in no more than 5 minutes to form a homogeneous suspension of whitish-gray or yellowish-beige color), transfer the contents of the vial to the same glass and stir. One teaspoon of the drug dissolved in this way constitutes 1 dose. The dissolved drug is not subject to storage. The required number of doses (correspondingly teaspoons) should be taken 40-60 minutes before meals and preferably washed down with milk. For infants, the drug can be given immediately before feeding. It is recommended to accompany the treatment with the use of vitamins. For adults and children over 12 years old, it is recommended to take 5 doses 2-3 times a day. The maximum single dose is 5 doses. The maximum daily dose is 15 doses. For children with intestinal dysbiosis, the drug is used from the day of birth according to the scheme: - first half of the year - 3 doses 2 times a day; - second half of the year - 3 doses 3 times a day; - from 1 year to 3 years - 5 doses 2 times a day; - from 3 to 6 years - 5 doses 2-3 times a day; - from 6 to 12 years - 5 doses 2-3 times a day. The maximum single dose is 5 doses. The maximum daily dose is 15 doses. The duration of the treatment course is determined by the severity of the clinical picture, the results of bacteriological and other studies, the age of the patient and is: - for dysfunctions and dysbiosis of various etiologies - 3-4 weeks; - for prolonged and chronic course of dysentery, post-dysenteric colitis, follow-up treatment of convalescents after acute intestinal infections, as well as for prolonged intestinal dysfunction of unknown etiology, treatment is at least 4-6 weeks; - for ulcerative colitis, as well as chronic colitis and enterocolitis - up to 2 months. If there is no effect from the use of the drug for 2 weeks, a re-examination of the microflora of the gastrointestinal tract and correction of the latter with other drugs depending on the result obtained is necessary. To consolidate the clinical effect obtained or in the absence of complete normalization of the microflora after the end of the treatment course, for diseases occurring with relapses, repeated treatment courses are advisable. In these cases, before prescribing the drug, a re-examination of the microflora is necessary. Maintenance doses of the drug (half the daily dose) are prescribed after 2-3 weeks for 1-1.5 months. For atopic dermatitis, children weakened by diseases of any etiology are prescribed 5 doses 2 times a day. For inflammatory diseases of the female genital area and prenatal preparation of pregnant women of the "risk" group, the drug is prescribed: - for inflammatory diseases of the female genital area - 5 doses 2 times a day intravaginally for 10-12 days, starting from the 10-12th day of the menstrual cycle. - for prenatal preparation of pregnant women of the "risk" group - 5 doses 1 time a day intravaginally for 5-8 days. When used intravaginally, a sterile tampon is impregnated with the drug (5 doses) dissolved in 10 ml of water and inserted into the vagina for 2-3 hours. Treatment should be carried out under the control of the restoration of the purity of vaginal secretion to I-II degree, until the disappearance of clinical symptoms of inflammation and laboratory confirmation.
