Method of administration and dosage Orally. The contents of one sachet (75 mg) should be completely dissolved in a glass of non-carbonated drinking water (150-200 ml) at room temperature. The resulting solution must be drunk immediately after preparation. Do not chew or swallow the granules. The solution should be taken in the morning, at least 60 minutes before the first meal, drink, or other medications. Do not lie down for 60 minutes after taking the solution. It is necessary to remain in an upright position (sitting, standing, or walking). Do not drink mineral water, milk, or juice. The recommended dose is 75 mg (1 sachet) once a month. The drug should be taken on the same day of each month. Side effects Possible side reactions include dyspepsia, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, constipation. Headache, musculoskeletal pain (myalgia, arthralgia), and flu-like syndrome may be noted, usually mild and self-limiting. Less commonly, skin rash, itching may occur. In rare cases, esophagitis, esophageal ulcers are possible. Avoid eating, drinking (except water), and taking other medications for at least 60 minutes after taking Osfortin, as this may impair the absorption of the drug and increase the risk of side effects from the upper gastrointestinal tract. Patients should be especially careful to follow the instructions for taking the drug (remaining in an upright position for 60 minutes). If symptoms of esophageal irritation (dysphagia, pain on swallowing, retrosternal pain) appear, the drug should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted.
