Method of administration and dosage The dosage of Sakolin depends on the age and body weight of the patient. Recommended doses: - Children from 6 months to 2 years: 2.5 ml of syrup (12.5 mg of pyrantel base) once. - Children from 2 to 6 years: 5 ml of syrup (25 mg of pyrantel base) once. - Children from 6 to 12 years: 10 ml of syrup (50 mg of pyrantel base) once. - Adults and children over 12 years: 15-20 ml of syrup (75-100 mg of pyrantel base) once. In case of enterobiasis, it is recommended to repeat the intake of the drug after 2-3 weeks to prevent re-infection. The syrup can be taken regardless of food intake. Side effects Possible side effects when using Sakolin include: - From the gastrointestinal tract: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain. - From the nervous system: headache, dizziness, drowsiness or insomnia. - Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, urticaria. In rare cases, an increase in liver enzyme activity may be observed. Contraindications Sakolin is contraindicated in the following cases: - Hypersensitivity to pyrantel or any other component of the drug. - Severe liver function disorders. - Children under 6 months of age. - Pregnancy and lactation period (use is possible only as prescribed by a doctor, if the expected benefit exceeds the potential risk to the fetus or child). Special instructions Before using Sakolin, you should consult a doctor, especially if you have liver diseases. During treatment, there is no need to use laxatives.
