Prevention of rickets (newborns): Usually 1 drop (500 IU) per day. Maintaining levels in adults: 1–2 drops (500–1000 IU) per day. Treatment of hypoparathyroidism: May be prescribed from 20 to 40 drops per day under strict medical supervision
