Method of administration and dosage Orally. The dose should be selected individually for each patient. Arterial hypertension. The recommended initial daily dose for adults is 5 mg 2 times a day. The usual maintenance dose is 10–30 mg/day in 2–3 doses. The daily dose should be increased gradually at weekly intervals until the necessary antihypertensive effect is achieved. The maximum daily dose is 30 mg. The effect of the preparation can be observed from the 1st week of its use, however, a pronounced therapeutic effect develops after 3–4 weeks of treatment. Angina pectoris. 5–20 mg/day in 2–3 doses. Heart rhythm disorders. 15–30 mg/day in 2–3 doses. Hyperkinetic cardiac syndrome. 5–20 mg/day in 2–3 doses. Elderly patients. Elderly patients can be prescribed the usual dose of the preparation. Children. There is no data on the use of the Visken® preparation in children. Impairment of liver and kidney function. In case of mild or moderate impairment of liver or kidney function, dose adjustment is not required. However, in case of pronounced impairment of liver function, a need for dose reduction may arise, and in case of severe renal failure, the preparation is contraindicated.
